OUR STORY




Jules Marie Emmerson is a multi-faceted artist and Lead Designer and CEO of Dakini Arts Inc. 'Dakini' was the name given to her by a mentor after her first Medicine Wheel training and came at time of massive transitions in her life. When choosing her new business name Dakini Arts in perfect alignment with what she is creating and offering to the world. 

She began her design career studying Jewelry Design and Gemmology at George Brown College in Toronto in 2003. Shortly after moving to BC in 2004 while working for the Wilderness Committee, she began her first apparel business, Metadivine, sewing one-of-a-kind pieces.

With a dream of starting an eco-fashion line, she studied Fashion Design at Blanche MacDonald in 2006/07. At that same time Freyja Skye approached her about teaming up and for 14 years they co-created MahaDevi design. After an incredible journey together, they have evolved. Jules into Dakini Arts, and Freyja into Phoenix Domes.

Traveling all over the world, from Australia to Bali to Costa Rica, she has shared her designs at evolutionary festivals, dance and yoga retreats.

In 2014/15 she studied Graphic Design in Vancouver at BCIT and moved the MahaDevi warehouse and her life to Squamish, all while she was pregnant with her daughter, Aliza, who is now in elementary at St'a7mes Cultural Journeys.

The MahaDevi warehouse has now evolved into the Dakini Arts Studios & Warehouse.

She is a full Mesa carrier with the Shamanic Yoga Institute, with which she assists and studies yoga with.

She is also a CYA certified 300HR Yoga Teacher, Certified Kundalini Dance™ facilitator and is committed to life of learning and growth.
